ESL Expands Into Indonesia, Plans National Championships Series

The Southeast Asian esports market continues to expand with ESL, the largest esports company in the world, announcing a partnership with Salim Group to help develop the competitive gaming ecosystem in Indonesia.

A vital part of this expansion is the establishment of ESL National Championships in Indonesia. These championships have provided an excellent boost for competitive scenes as they provide a platform for those to make the jump from national to international competitors. The premium brand name of ESL also helps encourage non endemics to get involved in their local esports scene.

Salim Group, headquartered in Jakarta, is a company with a global presence and very diverse portfolio. They have a hand in industries such as food, agribusiness, distribution and retail, telecommunications, automobile, building materials, real estate and industrial parks, hotels and resorts, financial services, infrastructures, chemicals, ecommerce, as well as resources and international trade.

The first season of the ESL Indonesia National Championships will feature online tournaments concluding in offline finals which are set to take place in 2019.
