The Unity engine is the most widely used third-party game development software worldwide, and we at IGN Southeast Asia are proud to partner up with Unity to introduce "Made With Unity Spotlight". The objective of this new feature column is simple, which is to showcase outstanding Made With Unity games, explore hidden gems, as well as behind the scene stories featuring some of the best developers and artists in the gaming world.

Be able to see within paintings illustrated by Keb Cerda, using modern Augmented Reality technology. This creates a whole dimension to all his projects by reinterpreting the past through the language of the current period, making it either amusing or conveying a strong message.

Keb Cerda is a young artist from the Philippines, who had a unique idea of merging games with his paintings in which he established using AR technology. Omniscope reveals new images and figures when viewing the works through the naked eye, revealing interventions that offer a wide range of observations on politics, economy, and culture.

There are many categories to choose from and explore, with a total of seven so far. Each of them having a different intervention from the artist. “Super Nardo - Collect all Coins” is probably the most highlighted category out of all, as it allows the users to play a mini game in which you would need to collect all the coins on the painting. However, the application isn’t used just for games as users are able to witness paintings coming to life.

The application isn’t aimed to be used as a tool for viewing artworks or to showcase AR technology, but a medium in creating meaning behind artworks. All you would need to do is to open your camera through the application and point it towards the paintings and search for the artist’s interventions.

Omniscope is available on both Android and IOS right now. Be sure to visit Keb Cerda’s Instagram page to be able to observe and use all his illustrated paintings on the application, you can also find out more through their website and Facebook.

Additionally, be sure to also check out our Made with Unity Channel, for everything unity.
