The Malaysian government has been taking many steps in promoting esports to the general public, shedding some light to those unaware as to the growth and passion that has been cultivated. Taking things to a national level, this year's Malaysian Sports Games (SUKMA) will include esports as a demonstration sport.

And now, the Malacca state government is contributing to the overall effort by hosting an esports expo this weekend at the Melaka International Trade Center in conjunction with the ANSARA ESPORTS MALAYSIA CHAMPIONSHIP's Malacca qualifier.

The AEG Expo will see many speakers come in & educate the public about esports

Officially titled as the AE Game Expo, all parties from the esports industry ranging from education institutes, game developers and electronic manufacturers have been invited to share their thoughts and knowledge to the public.

On top of talks about esports in general, the expo will also hold the Malacca qualifiers for the ANSARA ESPORTS MALAYSIA CHAMPIONSHIP, a nation wide esports tournament that began in July this year and will be hosting it's Grand Finale in Kuala Lumpur on the 16th - 18th of November. The list of games include Arena Of Valor, FIFA Online 3, Dota 2 and more.

The Malacca government recognizes the potential of esports and the business value within the industry, hoping that this expo will spark the interest of youths around Malaysia and to attract more people to visit the state of Malacca.
