Recap: Final Day of The Kuala Lumpur Major 2018

As we enter the end of an amazing battles between six Dota 2 Teams in The KL major 2018, we got to witness the overwhelming amount of support from the Malaysian esports community for the first Dota 2 Major of the new 2018-2019 Dota Pro Circuit season.

Before the main event, the cosplay competition finals was held in association with Tamago with all the cosplayers prepping their best skits to have the chance of winning 10,000RM. Contestants battle it out by showing off their Intimidating Dota hero costumes which showed a great deal of effort was put on them. The cosplayer contenders didn’t need a be event ticket holders to enter the competition.

Top 10 cosplayers were picked and judged on their best imitation of their hero, but most importantly on their attire’s attention to detail. It all ended up with the Night Stalker receiving the best wear amongst all the other cosplayers and winning the grand prize of 10,000RM.

The remaining meet & greet persisted with an enormous queue during the whole last day of the event as well, with the appearances of Admiral Bulldog, Godz, Team TNC Predator and even the host and casters of the event.

Starting off the final day of The KL Major matches is the battle between Evil Geniuses and Virtus Pro who was knocked down to the lower bracket by finalists, Team Secret. The best of 3 match up ended quite shortly as Virtus.Pro picked up the win with a 2-0 victory over the American titans granting VP their retribution match against Team Secret in the grand finals.

First game in the best out of 5 games sees a stunning array of back to back action with VP eventually claiming the first game victory. However, Team Secret manages to secure games two and three and are on the verge of claiming The KL Major trophy with only one more win to go. But VP defied the odds and rose from the ashes by winning both games four and five earning The KL Major trophy, earning 4,950 valuable DPC points and $350,000 USD.

The 3-day event were filled with the roaring of the crowds as well as Malaysia's undying support for Malaysian players, MidOne from Team Secret and xNova from PSG.LGD who brought worldwide recognition of Malaysia in the Dota 2 Pro Circuit.
