Malaysian esports giant, RSG Malaysia, has recently launched a new training facility for the esports team in Kepong, Malaysia.
The new facility is equipped with enough equipment and resources for three teams, namely their Mobile Legends Bang Bang team, Call of Duty Mobile team, and their PUBG Mobile team.
Officially launched during the team announcement, the facility is also their gaming house for players to spend their time and train with the team for upcoming games or tournaments.
The facility includes player and staff accommodation, training rooms, pantries, streaming rooms, broadcast studios, battle arenas, discussion spaces, and more. The building is also equipped with leisure facilities such as a gym, karaoke room, and spacious living areas to accommodate the players and staff.
Jayf Soh, founder and CEO of RSG, said that esports is a rapidly growing spectator sport and the team has a long way to go.
“Esports is one of the spectator sports with a massive year-on-year growth. The facility is just the starting point, and it will be a long journey for the team,” said Soh.
According to Soh, the investment to develop the training facility is done by the team to ensure that the players can play and train optimally by providing better resources. It is also to showcase to people inside and outside the esports industry what esports can offer.
“The facility was developed to further level up the players and give them better resources. We are also showcasing to people inside and outside of the industry what esports can offer. We hope to inspire more teams to follow in our footsteps.”
Launched in Malaysia in 2019, RSG Malaysia remains one of the only teams in the region to have completed the Grand Slam which was winning the MLBB tournament, COD Mobile tournament, and the PUBG Mobile tournament in the same season.
